High School Character Key Video Contest

We believe character is an important component to Leadership.  Character Keys (12) are presented throughout the Leadership Seminole sessions and are the same as taught in the Seminole County Public Schools.  The Keys are respect, honesty, courage, gratitude, generosity, caring, knowledge, fairness, patriotism, service, responsibility and courtesy.

The annual video contest incorporates the Keys and the most critical issues facing high school students as identified by the Seminole County Youth Commission. The issues: drug and alcohol abuse, body image, conflict resolution, and depression.

All nine Seminole County high schools participate in the Character Key Video Contest. The competing videos are shown and the winners are announced at the annual Character Key Breakfast in April. The winning video is shown at the Leadership Seminole Graduation Luncheon and the students are introduced on stage.
