Vision IV Launches Community Improvement Agenda
More than 120 community leaders participated in the Vision IV Conference for a day in January to talk about the county’s economic challenges and the human consequences that have occurred. Organized by Envision Seminole, leaders representing economic development (includes workforce), education, government, healthcare, environment, transportation, business, public safety, lifestyle, tourism, human services, the arts, and recreation worked in groups to brainstorm how the county can establish a new agenda in today’s economy.
They reached consensus on many opportunities and established 20 recommendations using “community reinvestment dollars.”
The Envision Seminole Board of Directors is moving forward the ideas and suggestions.
The leaders determined the top priorities by vote. The priorities included: renewing the penny sales tax, consolidation of services and fostering collaboration, and youth crime prevention.
